GMC launched the multi-pro tailgate for the Sierra before renaming it the MultiFlex tailgate for the Chevrolet Silverado 2021.
At launch, the new tailgate was only useful as an ideal for the more costly SLT, AT4, and Denali Sierra panels. However, GMC is increasing its availability to give the new Ford F-150 an edge. You can also know more about multiPro tailgate through various online sources.

For the GMC Sierra, the tailgate will be available as standard in SLE and Elevation equipment variants. This means that it is now standard on every seal of the GMC Sierra 1500 except for entry-level models.
Since launching for the Sierra in 2019, the MultiPro tailgate has become a popular choice, so it's no surprise GMC is asking to expand its availability.
With more standard equipment, the GMC could not help but accept the increase in price. The GMC MultiPro tailgate operates via a touchpad, key fob, or button on the bed and offers six different configurations.
It can still be opened and closed like a traditional tailgate, or the two aluminum panels can be advanced or lowered separately for diverse scenarios.
For example, the inner door can be used as a load limiter when the main door is lowered to prevent longer elements from slipping. It can also be used as a standing workstation or as a stepping for easier access to the bed.
