How to order from Amazon.co.jp
 if you cant speak any Japanese (like me!)

This was suggested in LJ, some people don't know how, and after stumbling though it myself not so long ago,
I thought I would do this in-depth step-by-step guide to help others out.
I'm using Yamane Ayano Illustrated Art Book, this was the first thing I ever ordered :P
So here we go!

Step 1 before we start you have to install the Japanese characters on your computer (If you dont already have it), I got these off the "Microsoft Word" CD in the language section.
Sorry I don't know how to get them from anywhere else >_<
 
Step 2 open your browser with Jpqueen.com (Fixed the URL)
Then find the artist/book your looking for, or fill in the search box

and click 'Search'
[you can also search for things you find on amazon.co.jp in Japanese with the English/Japanese buttons]
 
Step 3 When you find what you want click on the link to find out more...

[They also have a link for finding items they don't have in stock, click on this if you cant find what you want]
 
Step 4 Here they have all the info you need, even the Japanese names for the Artist, or the title your looking for, just highlight and copy these into your memory.
(I'm using the artist's name, if you want the book title it's the Kenji just below the pink box)

[ignore the prices they have, they don't allow for exchange rates]
 
Step 5 Now open a browser and link to Amazon.co.jp 

[It REALLY helps if you already know the layout of Amazon.com , amazon.co.uk or any other amazon website, they are all very much of a muchness, it also helps with putting in your details]
Step 6 Paste the name you have in your memory into the search engine at Amazon.co.jp (as shown below)

 
Step 7 If the artist is listed at Amazon.co.jp then a list will appear,
(most of them have images so it's easier to find)
Click on the item you want.

 
Step 8 Then you get a page like this...

but don't panic ^_^
 
Step 9 In the right corner these is this link.
You HAVE to click on this because it also carries though to when you order.

When you click on it the only thing that happens is that all the 'transaction' and 'Ordering' buttons become English,

[this is great if all you want to do is order the item, then go to " Step 12 "]
Step 10 If you want to learn more about this item, open a separate browser with Babel Fish Translation 
Copy the WHOLE Amazon.co.jp address into your memory, Then copy it into the "Translate a Web page" box and select the language you want the website to change into. It normally takes a few seconded for it to do it's bit.

[It also has the option of putting raw text into it, so you can giggle at Japanese names :P]
 
Step 11 This is what happens when you use Bable Fish... the only thing is, it's not very informative, but sometimes it's useful for technical details.

 
Step 12 Ok... now you just click on the 'Add to Shopping Cart'

[Just as with all amazon sites you can carry on shopping or just proceed to checkout]
 
Step 13 when you ready to order click on the 'Proceed to Checkout' or 'View Cart' 
[You HAVE to have pressed the 'View in English' (Step 9) link or it will get really confusing]
 
Step 14 Now you should be at the account screen.

[If you already have an account with another amazon, I suggest you just use the same detail's to save on confusion, but you WILL have to make a new account...]
[If you don't have an amazon account, then because you have clicked on the 'Display in English' all the information from this point on is in English and really easy to get your head round...]
 
Step 15 Ok... once you have been through all the account stuff... 
You might wannan know how much you have to folk out for this little treasure!

ok... Amazon gives you the price of shipping just before you click that horrible button called 'Place your Order'

Copy the price in Yen to your memory.
 
Step 16 Open a browser to Currency Calculator
Past in the price and select your currency then BOOM, ya know how much is gonna be taken off your Credit Card *sigh*
 
Step 17 And then all ya have to do is sit back and wait for that parcel to be delivered by some nice postman who hates you for always ordering HUGE packages :P
