What can I say...
YAOI! well, kind of cause there isn't anything Graphic in it really... but
who cares! near as damn it ^_^ The artwork? nothing to write home about, but who cares, the story telling makes up for it soooo much, if ya not laughing your socks off with this manga then your funny bone was surgically removed by rampant pigmies when you weren't looking, it's charming, it's quirky, it's ironically realistic. Gravitation is about 2 friends wanting to make a band called Bad Luck, together when they leave school. But getting a recording contract is trickier that it seams. Shuichi is the main chara, he's a bit of a feather brain but he knows what he wants, and that's Yuki! Yuki is a stoic romance author who, at first, cant stand this kid who's latched on to him, literally. But well Then the story begins on it roller coaster of a story that just has you giggling and shaking your head at all the antics that goes on. But don't be fooled, it might seem a light hearted comedy of a romance manga, but it's undertow is not all fun and games ^_^... all in all a damn good read for ANYONE! There is also an Anime for this manga, release as a really bad sub. it fallows the story but leaves out some of the lesser needed chara and plot thickness that make the manga a separate entity. also the chata design is a bit of, but if you want to go round screaming "YUKI" at the top of your lungs for day's, a great Anime ^_^ |

Shonen-ai content! also about 1 main story and 3 small ones in this book, I can only comment on the first volume right now... Raenef is a trainee demon lord, he doesn't really know why he's there,
he only signed up for the free food and bored. He's not your most fearful
demon, and has no idea how to go about it, so the elegantly cool and aloof
Eclipse has to teach him how to be more evil. but this happens not to be
such an easy task... PS: If your not laughing enough to make you sick by page 34, then you have no sense of hummer :P Volume 2 review: I don't normally do this
2nd review, but this needs it... I was reasdy to give up on this series... but Hell, on 2nd reading it really is good ^_^... and well worth to keep collecting :P |

| This
is a manga that will make you cry with tears of laughter, there are some
darker plot lines, but most of the time your grinning at the silly jokes
as the chara frolic about and get thought their adventures as Sorcerer Hunters
by goofing up and getting the job done. The Manga centres around 5 chara;
Carrot & Marron, brothers of a long line of Sorcerer Hunters; Tira
& Chocolate, orphaned sisters razed by Carrot & Marron's parents
and finally Gateau who is looking for his sister. Carrot chases terrified
girls when he's not wielding his sward and turning into demons when ever
he is hit with Magic, Marron is the quietist, thoughtful member of the
group and uses "Magic Cards" to weald his western magic.
Tira looks all nice and innocent till she whips off her specs and get's
out her bondage gear and whip. Chocolate just wants to have Carrots
children but when pressed get's scantily clad and kicks ass and Gateau
when not flaunting his body at anyone willing to watch or trying to get
into Marron's bed, has the knack of resisting magic. Basically there are
the normal people and the Sorcerers, when a Sorcerer starts killing and
miss treating the normal people then it's up to the Sorcerer Hunters to
stop them. As the story goes on and you get introduced to all the chara
then the deeper plot becomes apparent... This is a gripping story that you cant help but fall in love with from the first Volume, if your looking for a good read then this is one, the artwork is stunning and the chara and plot development keeps you reading and gagging for more. Ok, so finally Sorcerer Hunters is over, the last battle has been fought, and now we must find something else to spend our cash on and what to do with the months of waiting for the next episode... *Sob* but I still love this manga! and it was all worth it! |

This
title is the best (in my opinion) that Rumiko has ever done (and yes I've
read almost all of her works) It has 'Ranma 1/2' hummer with 'Mermaids' sensibility.
Kagome is the heroin of this tail, a modern day School girl with a sense
of irony and sarcasm who falls down her family's well and ends up in the
past where she frees a rather irate Inu-Yasha from his long sleep/death.
Inu-Yasha is our reluctant hero, Half dog demon half human he tries to
keep his hard ass image, but keeps failing miserably as the story unveils.
Kagome is the reincarnation of the woman Priestess who put Inu-Yasha into
a 50 year sleep. The whole story revolves around them trying to put back
together the "Jewel of Four Souls" that got shattered all over
Japan, This Jewel has the power to make any Demon that ingests it more powerful,
but only a true and pure soul can purify it of it's evil power... So a
reluctant Kagome who just wants to go home and finish her exams and an
even more reluctant Inu-Yasha who says he wasn't to just be a full demon,
go off to get the jewel back. meeting a host of demons both friendly and
bad and trying to figure out the whole story as to Inu-Yasha's past. This is a lovely story, when your not laughing your biting your nails in suspense, it touches on everything that makes a great manga and through ever volume keeps you reading and wanting more. Now on DVD - click HERE for more info! Resent Update: I'm not currently happy
with VIZ right now, After 12 volumes of Inu-Yasha they have gone and not
only change the cover design but made it smaller! before when they looked
nice and like a set, they now look cheep and nasty. Great, 5 years of collecting
and a (take-over/merge) with another company and they stab us in the back!
all I have to say to who ever thought up this "New look" is that
they are an incompetent bastard, hell I'm not event going to post it it's
that nasty. |

| This was a spur of the moment buy in the Comic book Shop in
Leeds. And boy do I sometimes have good impulse buys ^_^, I'll defiantly be
getting the rest! Mineko has done Shonen-ai manga before, though I don't know if
this one will turn into that kind of thing, and it doesn't matter. There are 3
main Male chara that DO end up in drag and one of them again in Reluctant
Drag... This manga had me chuckling to myself and wiping tears from my eyes for
hours! The artwork is good and the story if a little confusing at times seen as
you seem to get thrown into the story half way through but that's the charm of it
^_^... Rune, Water, an effeminate elfin Prince who just wants to go home - Rath, Fire, a psychotic Yokai Warrior who just wants to kill Demons and Thatz, Earth, a human thief who just wants to find loot all the time... Make up the 3 (unlikely) Dragon Knights who have somehow managed to get the head of the enemy, and are trying to take it back to their Lord... Not forgetting the loot, demon killing and cross dressing on their way as they also fight off the other enemies who just happen to want the head of their leader back... This is a funny Manga that will have you laughing from beginning to end as you fall in love with them and their elemental dragons! This Manga is a MUST read for anyone!... | This
is not your normal manga on any counts... Feudal Japan with a modern day
text? Yup, were as the stunning art work is screaming at you everything
that is a true black and white Samurai movie the text is screaming
downtown New York without the accent. While Manji is having his legs cut
off... again, the dialogue is making you cry with laughter... The art work
also needs a great mention, even if this was in Japanese I'd still get it.
Unbelievably rendered real life chara reminding me a lot of Otomo (creator
of AKIRA) fill ever panel, some in Pen and some that look as if there in
Pencil, the smattering of full page panels are just stunning! Also the
play between chara is also realistic. The story revolves around Manji who killed a hundred good guys before a little old nun tricked him and giving him some worms that would heal any and all wounds, now he must resolve himself by basically killing a thousand bad guys... Then there is Rin, who watched her parents killed and her fathers Dojo destroyed, now all she wants is revenge, and with the little old nuns help she has to ask Manji... Now Manji is NOT a hero, more your anti-hero with a big old stinky heart with a soft spot for young girls after seeing his sister killed infront of him... So we have Manji your scoundrel rouge samurai and Rin a young woman who just wants peace... The chara, despite the barmy and serious plots, still keep there REALNESS, It's like looking at some strange documentary... The only problem with this manga is that instead of Dark Horse just printing it the Japanese way, after the Artist gave instructions NOT to reverse it... Dark Horse instead reversed each panel, sometimes killing the flow of the story... I would love to see this in it's true Japanese form... But all in all this manga is NOT for the weak of heart, the gory seines are VERY realistic... This manga is a MUST for anyone who likes a good laugh and LOT's of Blood and legs falling off. and lots of impaling, it's ok, Manji always get's up with a grin at the end :P |

| I
had this manga for ages, but never really read it, it's confusing on the
outset and the art work doesn't help, but after drooling over the Anime
(The best I've seen in a long time!) You don't really know anything about
the chara's unless you read the bios at the beginning. But if you have
watched the anime then you know some of what is going on. So far this is
also NOTHING like the Anime, I haven't found a story yet that could be put
to the anime, it's a completely different layout. The Manga concentrates
more of their jobs and what they do and how they do it that the Anime
lack's, but the Manga lacks the humanity given to them in the Anime. Don't
read this manga unless you have watched the Anime or you will be very
confused and disheartened. Other than that negativity, Cowboy Bebop on the
whole is a great story, an insight into the future as it's more then
likely to be, it's not Utopia and it's not something from a Mad Max flick.
This is the future as it probably will be, nothing flash and polished,
nothing so disheartening and depressing. Just a shit happens and as always
people deal with it. Though it does concentrate on the darker side of life
you still have them flashes of normal peoples lives. I love Bebop for this
aspect alone as well as the great chara. Also there isn't that aspect of
"True Love" that sometimes seems to infect good Manga's and ruin
them. this is a true to life manga set in the future with down times and
Laughing fit's... This is a Story about Bounty Hunters by the way so I especially love it, these are Bounty hunters that are human and make mistakes! [ Printed the Original Japanese way round ] |

OMG... When I first
saw the cover I thought, "this is for me!". Then I flicked
through it when I got it though the post and though. "This is not for
me >_<" Then after a day or so I read it and thought... "*wheeze*
Where is the next one!!!* Ok, the artwork is very detailed and beautiful, then skips of into vulgar parodies of it's self, but you cant help but laugh at it. On first sight it's beauty with ugliness but then the text makes all the difference! At first there are four main chara; Nell, an annoying 18 year old trainee Witch who you just want to slap upside the head. Madame, Nell's Mother and an ex-Witch with a wonderful Gothic dress sense, a great chara and almost mother figure to everyone. Luel, is the down trodden Alchemist who wares glasses and a lab coat almost constantly (the sexy blond on the cover) he also loves Nell for some strange reason, but he's very nice. And finally, Luka, (the darker haired one) He's Luel's older brother and is protective over his much younger sib, He's a really big Dark Mage/Wizard who like's to ware black leather bondage gear when he's not gardening, He tries to act all dark and brooding, not caring for anyone, but hurt his family or friends and he pulls out all the stops... Halfway through the first novel another chara is introduced, he wants to be an apprentice to the great Luka, but the only one againced it is Luka... But he's so young and cute Madame takes him in and does everything to get Luka to take him on, Luka finally agrees when he actually realises what the kid is... The story in the first novel concentrates mostly on Chara building, skipping into a deeper story plot by the 2nd volume.. One word of warning though, In the first volume, Luka has shoulder length hair that's really sexy, but with an incident in the 2nd volume he cuts it all off, and it's SO not good >_< so don't get to attached! A great read so far, and mucho recommended! |

| This is just
strange... Count D (the pretty boy in the dress) runes a pet shop in China Town in New York (I think) selling not only mundane pets, but one's that you have to sign a contract to own... The Count is a strange one and I don't really know if he's a good guy or a bad one, but ya love him anyway... There is also a Detective that links the Counts pet shop and strange murders and killing, but no one else believes him. But despite all his suspicions and accusations, he still shows up at the shop with sweets when tea is ready, and the two in a way are kind of friends (but is there more *winks*) The main of the story is that the Count sells pet's that he keeps in the Back, to people he thinks need teaching a lesson, usually a very deadly one, but it's not all death and misery... Sometimes it's a nice lesson. PS: Do NOT get possessed to get the Anime of this series... why?... cause it royally sucks! they have the story, almost to the letter... but the animation it's self is just horrendous, it also looses all the hummer and quirkiness that the manga has... just stay away, it makes you loose faith in the manga. |

This has been a favourite,
in the Fan sense, of mine for years, I just cant help myself, Kurama is
just cool!!! I might not be collecting this whole series cause the artwork and main chara just annoy me to boredom... I'll post as soon as Kurama and Hiei make a permanent appearance... why? cause I'm a Slash-slut ^_^ This is also the new line that VIZ are producing to keep up with the success that Tokyo Pop is having, smaller and cheaper... they have also FINALLY jumped on the bandwagon of NOT reversing everything. |
