BANE Huntress's Anime/Manga Male Harem

BANE's Review thingi of this book.
Hmm... I like the way
these books are writen, first 'Inteview with the Vampire' writen
in first person almost. Then this book!!!... Talk about spell
bound, I couldnt take my eye's off the page's. You could almost
beleave it was real, that Lestat did walk this earth somewhere
and did prowal for human victimes each night. It's like reading
someone's diary, you know you shouldnt but you cant help finding
out all there little secrats. Jeez, I feel like I cant even talk
about 'Those Who Must Be Kept'. At first I was becoming bored
with Marius's Tail, then I realise it was almost like it was me,
not Lestat he was talking too, (might have just been lack of
sleep on my part^_^) But the holl story up untill that point
seemed almost desturbingly real.
Apart from the few plot flawes in 'Epilogue; Interview with the
Vampire' (all explain below), It was better than "IwtV' but
I'm afraid I'm a Louis fan ^_^ (cant stop thinking about Brad
Pitt when I'm reading about him).
But the hole thing take's you through Lestat's life, He wasn't as
thick a people made out, and in that I was right (see my review
on Iwtv). But he's just a bit of a tear away, someone who dosent
folow any croud's (a bit like a few of us out there, including me).
He just want's to be notised and loved. He's just an Exentrick at
heart.
The book its self, as I've alreadysaid is spell binding, it draws
you into it's own little world and holdes you there with huckes,
that just keep geting deeper the more you read, if you hae read
'Interview with the Vampir' and dont think this book would be
anygood then OWW are you the fool ^_^... if you have read it and
whant to know what I thought then it's all here ^_^.
EEP!!!... Plot mishapes I've notised!!
One little flaw... well not a little flaw really,
a huge great big one! one that is now urking me... Right, in 'Interview
with the Vampire' Louis meet's Lestat sometime in the 20th
century, he followes one of Lestat's flegaling's with the baby,
back to Lestat's lair and talk's to him then buggers off... BUT!...
and this is one HUGE 'but'... In 'The
Vampire Lestat' right at the end, 'Epiloge; Inteview
with the Vampire', acording to Lestat he never met Louis
that century untill he was about to do the consert, and Louis had
come back to him finaly. WHAT?! Had Louis a
sudden change of heart? but then Lestat never mentiond seeing him
befor, and he was too week to make any flegaing's anyway befor he
went ground in 1929, to rise in 1984. So who did Louis see then?
'Intreview with the Vampire' had been published befor
Lestat ever rose. I'm confused.
One of my theris, is that seen as Lestat mentiond seeing Armand
during this time, thet maybe it was some last ditch atempt by
Armand to get Louis to come back to him, and it failed. Thats why
he bugged Lestat, but this idea is flawed because then, why did
Louis come back to him in the end? surly Louis thought it had
happend in his acount. but then neather did Lestat mention it in
'the Vampire Lestat'?... I know I might be going round
in surcales but it was one thing that Louis said in 'IwtV',
that Lestat had blamed Claudia's death verchaly on Santiago? the
egsact quot from 'IwtV' gose as;
From 'Interview with the Vampie', Lestat say's to Louis...
"- - - 'I didn't mean to let them do it, Louis...
I mean that Santiago... that one, you know, he didn't tell me
what they planned to do.'- - -"
But from Lastat's acounts in 'the Vampire
Lestat' it was Armand who had tricked him Not
Santiago, so why would he blame him and not Armand? there was no
love lost between the two (but I'll come to that later).
And again another thing Louis remember's Lestat saying to him
when they met up in the 20th century, another quot from 'IwtV',
Lestat to Louis;
"'But Louis...' Lestat was saying softly. 'how
can you be as you are, how can you stand it? He was looking up at
me, his mouth in that same grimace, his face wet with tears.
'Tell me, Louis, help me to understand! How can you understad it
all, how can you endure?'- - - "
Hmm... From just reading 'tVL' then this
seem's something very UN-Lestat-like to say,
something infact I dont think he would.
This is where my hole Armad theri comes into play, it sounds like
Armand asking the question, for it was what he could never
understand.
The 3 way love affair's!
The hole Lestat-Armand-Louis
thing... What a love triangal that is, hmm, how to say it?...
Right, at the beggining.
First, Armand was made by Marius and Armand loved him, but
thought him dead... then found Lestat *even if it was under
dificut surcomstanses*
Then, Armand loved Lestat and wanted him to stay with him, but
Lestat said no, then whent off and found Marius.
Lestat loved Marius and viser versa, but Marius sent him away to
live a little, meen while Lestat also fell in love with Akasha (but
this is insidental right ow cos I havent started The Queen of the
Damned)
Then Lestat fell in love with Louis (and I think
the fealing was mutual if a little twisted) The Louis
buggerd of with Claudia.
Louis fell in love with Claudia (again a bit
twisted but hay) then he met Armand...
Armand fell in love with Louis, and again the feeling was mutual
(for a bit anyhow) untill Armand left cos Louis had done it years
beffor in mind anyway.
Then there was also the other side line interests.
Lestat's other loves... Nicki, Gabrielle,
Marius, Claudia, Akahsa. *Note; Armand I havent
included.*
Armand's loves (that know of)...
Marius, Lestat, Louis.
Louis's loves... Lestat (well he did), Claudia, Armand (for
a short time).
Why Armand is such a cock.
I can kind of see why you have to feal a bit
sorry for Armand (it's the only shread I have leaft and I think
it's called Pitty), But he was a bit of a prat.
He wanted to be lead, that was obveus. He couldnt tell the rest
of the covent in the theater of the Vampire what to do, cos he is
a natcheral folower, first he was a slave. Then Marius lead him.
Then he let the Covern rule him. Then he wanted Lestat to lead
him, he may have jenuinly loved Lestat but luckily Lestat and
Gabrielle saw the light of that and told him to bugger off. Then
he fell in love (I supose) with Louis.
But he still wanted Lestat when he knew Louis, but Lestat still
didnt want to know because he still wanted in Louis.
I supose you could feel sorry for him in the fact that bothe the
People he wanted didnt want him but wanted each other, (just that
Louis didnt know that yet). So in that respect you can see why he
was a bit bitter about it all.
If he read 'The Vampire Lesta' *I havent read 'the queen of the
Damnd' yet, so dont explain it* you can imagin him being a bit
more saw. He thought Marius was dead, that infact he wasnt, and
that Marius infact wanted Lestat and told him the secret of
'Those Who Must Be Kept' instead of finding him. I think if it
was me and I found that out I'd go spare.
But then he bought it down on his own head, by going about things
all wrong. He handaled the situation with Louis all wrong. He
could have handaled Lestat better but I dont thing anything would
have worked there.
My finale conclusion is that Armand really need's to understand
and handle motals a bit better.. then he might have had a chanse
with his Vampire Kin.
Well... thats it for this page as I try and read 'The Queen of the Damnd' which isnt going to well at the minit cos I hate the kind of 'what happend while...' book's that it is turning out to be... but seen as I've just realised 'Interiew with the Vampire' was first printed a year befor I was born, I think I'll have to slug on with it.... So keep to this space for further info ^_^
